Been A While, Let’s Catch Up

So, a lot has been going on lately. I know it’s been a while since I last wrote here, but that’s the beauty of owning your own website – you can come back to it any time that you wish.

Here’s the big news I’m sure you heard by now. The company I worked for ceased operation, and now I find myself looking at new opportunities for the future. It’s a bit scary, but I’m hopeful. I truly loved working for my former employer, and it was heartbreaking to hear the news. However, sometimes these things happen for a reason. It’s never quite clear in the beginning, but over time, these reasons start to make sense. So, I close the door on one part of my life and open the door to another part.

As I’ve always done, I’ve taken stock of what I do have and what I’m most grateful for. I must thank my husband of sixteen years Marty, who has gotten me through some pretty dark moments that I’ve had since this started. I love you dearly, Honey. Thank you for being by my side through all of this.

I am also grateful for our wonderful pets who have showered me with affection, and to my supportive family and friends who have just lent me an ear when I needed a laugh or to cry.

But after sizing up the situation and thinking of what to do next, I’ve decided to take a big step and take on three major projects. Let’s start with the one that is most relevant to this site.

In 2018, I announced we were doing retakes on Potholes: The Audio Book. And it’s true. We were. Due to my schedule, I couldn’t devote as much time as I would like. So, I decided to work on the audiobook in increments when I had time. Also, the voice actress that I had hired was also very busy in her personal life. She couldn’t devote as much time as was needed to complete the project. So, for that reason, she resigned from the project halfway through.

I was honestly okay with her decision, and as I mulled over possible replacements, I thought to myself – why not record the book myself. So that’s what I’ve decided to do. Over the course of two years, I’ve been recording the chapters and now that I have time to devote to the project, I will begin to edit very soon. Then I will begin feedback from my listening team. I’m very excited to be bringing this project to a close. It’s been quite a road in getting it ready and I’m hoping that you will enjoy it once it is.

Check out the trailer for Potholes down below and please feel free to leave a comment if you enjoyed it.

The second project I’m working on is helping my friend & colleague Ron Harris revitalize his Youtube channel. At MD, I took Muscular Development to new heights with several new innovative practices while I was COO. Now, I bring those talents to Ron’s channel in helping him achieve his goals and ambitions for the future. Giles of course makes appearances too, and we hope to soon run hard-hitting bodybuilding interviews that only Ron can deliver. Check out Ron’s channel here and please subscribe today for all of the latest in bodybuilding news, interviews and contest coverage. Plus, he’ll be sharing his articles too! And he’s got some great ones! I’m very happy to be working with Ron again, and I know this his channel will be successful.

The third project I am working on should not be a surprise to anyone. In addition to the many things, I love in today’s pop culture like Star Trek, Star Wars, The Last of Us, etc. There is one thing I absolutely have loved to do in my spare time and that is play the Sims. Having played the game for over 20 years, and played every iteration right to this current version, I’ve always wanted to start a channel that talked about my love for the game. So many times, I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings on what the Sims were doing right and wrong and share maybe a Let’s Play or two. With a demanding schedule for a long time, I couldn’t devote the time or energy needed to really give the channel everything that I would want to – until now.

Introducing the GXSimmer where I finally get to talk about the Sims from own perspective and experiences. If you love the game, as much as I do, I’d be honored to hear what you think. Here’s one of my newest videos from the channel. I would very much appreciate and welcome your feedback.

In closing, I’d like to thank you for reading. I promise to make more appearances on this site, even if just to ramble for a little while about what may appear to be nonsense. I have a website after all – maybe I should actually use it!

I’m hopeful, grateful and optimistic for the future as I place my faith in both God, my family and me. As the Christmas season approaches for many of us, I would like to wish you all the best for a joyous holiday season, however you may celebrate it, or not.

Thanks for reading today – Jen
